Plating Services:

American Plating & Manufacturing Company (APM) has a wide variety of electroplating capabilities.  All of our plating is done in-house at our state-of-the-art facility in Chicago, Illinois.  We have the ability to rack or barrel plate all types of parts and components within typical manufacturing size ranges.  Currently, we plate parts in sizes ranging from small screws to large electrical connectors.

Plating Materials:

We have significant skill in the application of a number of plating materials including:

• Brass

• Nickel

• Copper

• Tin

• Silver

Appearances:

These plated materials can be rendered in a number of finishes from matte to high gloss.  Also, we have processes available for color matching existing plated parts, should that be a desirable or necessary feature.

Zincate/Alstan Process:

We are one of the few facilities in the Chicago area to offer the Zincate Process (also known as Alstan Process) for aluminum components.  This is a highly specialized plating method that allows us to tin plate on machined or cast aluminum parts.

Buffing & Finishes:

In addition to plating, we also have a variety of operations for parts that have already been plated, or which do not need plating services.  These operations include mechanical tumbling, hand buffing, lacquering, and color oxidizing.
